Chinchero is an Inca District in Peru, located in the departamento (state) of Cusco but it is about 28 kilometers (17 miles) northwest of the city of Cusco. the archeological site located there, on the way to Sacred Valley, Maras Moray, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu, this Inca district is surrounded by five sacred snow capped peak mountains which are Salkantay, Waccay Willca, (veronica) Chicon, Pitusiray, Sawasiray and Ausangate, in dry season we can seen from this Inca District Chinchero, where in the Inca philosophy were considered our protectors Gods (Apus), and the beautiful handmade textiles made by the villagers. Many people, tourists and otherwise, marvel at the textiles, but sadly, many never come to fully appreciate the process by which they are made.
Where the local women wash it with a root from the jabonera (soapwort) plant. This root is a natural detergent which creates a lather and removes the dirt the llama and alpca wool. Interestingly, it is this same root which the people use as shampoo to wash their own hair. All natural dyes used are 100% natural and hand-gathered. Leaves, bark, moss, corn, flowers, Greens & blues: leaves, purples: purple corn, oranges: ‘beard of the rock’ moss, yellows, flowers, chílka leaf for green tones, Cólli Flower for yellow tones, and Cochinilla, a parasitic insect that thrives on the tuna (prickly pear) cactus. And seeds are all used to make varying shades of different colors. There are an abundance of natural dyes used in Chinchero to color the finished product textiles, and also serves as women’s lipstick and rouge.
The people of Chinchero make designs in their weavings specific to Chinchero. The final products consist of shawls, skirts, scarves, belts, ponchos, table runners, bags, coin purses, and much more. All are stunning and beautiful, at the same time, they preserve and conserve the identity cultural it is much more than that. Weaving is a living testament to their heritage, where we will appreciate these ancient traditions from the time of the Incas, is unique in South America

Explore amazing Inca Site and the fabled Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu. The Inca City of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu is the articulating center of its surroundings, a masterpiece of art, urbanism, architecture and engineering of the Inca Civilization.
There you will receive a short briefing and have the remainder of the morning to acclimatize. In the afternoon, we will introduce you to the Imperial City of Cusco, a living example of the mix of Andean and Spanish culture. Continuing your journey, you will visit the Santo Domingo Convent built over the Koricancha, as well as the ancient Inca Palace and the main worship center of the Sun God. Our tour continues to the unmatched and mesmerizing archaeological site of Sacsayhuaman and its cyclopean Inca architecture, which dominates the city. Finally, we explore the archaeological sites of Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay, located in the north east of the city. We will head back to your hotel in Cusco by early evening.

This beautiful drive is about 45 minutes. On your drive, you will see the snow-capped peaks of the Andes, lush yellow fields of wheat, and some villages. Finally, you will arrive at the fascinating display of terraces in Moray. Moray boasts three amphitheater-like terraces, made by the Incas. These terraces, which are carved deep into the earth, in the shape of a bowl, were thought to be used to determine the optimal conditions for growing crops. Moray also known as “The Greenhouses of the Incas,” an evolutionary bowl of ecological difference. Levels of terraces are carved into a huge bowl, part of which was further excavated by the Incas for their crops. The terraces have varied microclimates depending on how deep into the bowl they are, thus it is believed that they have been used by the Incas to discover the optimal conditions for their different crops.
Then we return to the colonial town of Maras, descending our drive downhill to the pre-Inca salt mine. Thousands of saltpans have been used for salt extraction since before Inca times. A hot spring at the top of the valley discharges a small stream of heavily salt laden water, which is diverted into saltpans and evaporated to produce a salt that is used for human and animal consumption.
Finally, we drive to Urubamba Sacred Valley ifself, where we will lunch, after lunch we will continue to the Inca Site ollantaytambo. Then at 7pm, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night in a hotel.

Bursting out with excitement on your final surreal day, we take the 5.30am bus to Machu Picchu archeological site to enjoy the morning sunrise. With our 2 hour tour we make sure to explore every nook and cranny of this New 7 Wonder of the World and UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, the majestic Machu Picchu Citadel. What an unforgettable experience. Your guide will expertly direct you through the energetic ruins and its diverse main streets. Then on your own, you can wander around the town squares of the world’s spiritual center of esoteric wisdom, as well as climb the intricately carved stairways made of stone.

Train to Cusco: You will descend to Aguas Calientes, eat a leisurely lunch and at 4:22pm board the Expedition train for the return trip to Cusco. Upon reaching Ollantaytambo train station, you will transfer to a private van for your return to Cusco, arriving at your hotel at 8pm.
