Mission & Strategic Vision

MACHUPICCHU HIKING PERU is a local tour operator dedicated to ensuring that tourism contributes to the holistic development of host communities. Our mission is to protect the planet's natural and cultural heritage while offering meaningful, respectful experiences that preserve these destinations for future generations.

To achieve this, we focus on three core pillars:

  • Preservation: Safeguarding ecosystems, historical sites, and cultural traditions.
  • Education: Training travelers and industry stakeholders in responsible practices.
  • Empowerment: Encouraging active community participation in management and decision-making.

Our Vision for the Future

We envision a future where tourism acts as a positive transformative force. We strive for vibrant destinations where nature flourishes, culture is strengthened, and local communities prosper with equity. Sustainability remains the cornerstone of all our planning as we expand our high-quality, unique experiential services to the global stage.

Core Values: Honesty & Credibility

At MACHUPICCHU HIKING PERU, transparency distinguishes us from others. We translate our values into measurable actions:

Commitment Our Action Plan
Local Employment Ensure at least 80% of agency jobs are held by people from local communities near our destinations.
Social Reinvestment Allocate at least 20% of income from each trip to projects in infrastructure, education, and health.
Fair Trade Negotiate fair prices with local suppliers to ensure they exceed production costs and generate real profit.
Transparency Publish annual sustainability reports and specify the exact percentage of resources directed to conservation in every quote.

We maintain a public record of all our suppliers and their individual commitments to sustainable practices.

Our Roots & Impact

Timoteo Auccapuma Quispe (Founder of Machupicchu Hiking Peru)
